Jeffrey Brennan consultingAfter completing a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Physiology, he graduated from medical school at the University of NSW with first class honours in 1991, and was awarded the University Medal in Medicine.

He trained in Australia at St Vincent's, Royal North Shore, Royal Prince Alfred, and The New Children's Hospitals in Sydney, obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Neurosurgery in 1999. He then undertook an 18 months overseas fellowship in Canada at the University of Toronto in spinal disorders, neurotrauma, and cerebrovascular neurosurgery, before taking up his current position as Consultant Neurosurgeon.

In addition to a strong clinical focus on patient well being, he is involved in training junior neurosurgeons having held the position of Supervisor of Advanced Training at RPA hospital and now serves as an Examiner with RACS Court of Examiners in Neurosurgery. He has contributed to Neurosurgery Curriculum sub-committees to help frame the structure of neurosurgical training, has participated in College Censor in Chief review committees, and served as a Board member for the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia.

He is committed to staying up to date and maintaining and developing new skills, regularly attending workshops and meetings in Australia, Europe, and North America. His national and international professional associations include the Australian Medical Association, the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia, the Congress of Neurological Sureons, the North American Spine Society, and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
